January 14, 2007 concert with PIANIST, Ian Parker
“I have to tell you how incredible the concert at Christ Church Cathedral was. It was breathtaking from start to finish. The Trio were at the top of their game – individually and collectively. I don’t know what it was, but there was something different happening on that stage. All cylinders were firing and the three of them seemed to be having a great time while they worked fiendishly (but elegantly) hard at their craft. I feel very privileged to have been there to experience those special moments.
And it wasn’t just me who felt that way, for the quality of silence that fell upon the audience showed how enraptured they were with the music. When the last note of the Schumann quartet was played, the emotional release experienced by the audience was palpable. It felt as if one were suddenly awakened from a lovely dream.
The Brahms piano trio was quite a jewel. I can’t even find the appropriate words to describe it.”

“The players are gifted instrumentalists with strong individual personalities that rebounded off each other in memorable ways… it was the interpretive depth of their performance that most engaged the capacity audience… from the first few notes there was no doubt of excellence…”

“It is no exaggeration to say that Trio Accord’s performance of Dmitri Sitkovetsky’s masterly arrangement of the Goldbergs not only provided the highlight of Tuesday evening’s concert, it also provided a transcendent musical experience.
This was a performance which was decidedly more than the sum of its parts, although those parts were worthy enough in their own right: the beautifully refined opening aria, played with a minimum of vibrato, for example, or the dazzling passage work in the faster variations. All was performed stylishly and with total commitment. And, need I say, virtuosity. Idiomatic the arrangement may well be; technically easy, it most certainly is not.”

“Enchanting. That is the best word to describe the performance of Trio Accord”
